How do I find out what work I missed when I was absent?
It is your responsibility to identify and make up any work missed due to absence. Follow the instructions on the
Previous Days' Activities page to identify what was done in class each day. While absent or upon returning to class, you should identify the work
to be made up by checking the web site. Then send me an e-mail that (1) identifies the date and day absent, (2) the excuse
(parent note, doctor's excuse, bereavement, or court), (3) the assignments that were missed, and (4) suggest a time or
plan to make up the work missed. If e-mail is unavailable, use the Comment Form on the Contact Me page.
How long do I have to make up the work I missed?
The district allows five school days to complete missed work.
Is
there a pencil sharpener, a hole-punch, a tissue, tape, a pen or pencil, etc. I can use?
Yes and no. Tissue and hand-sanitizer are provided for student use on the shelf near
the telephone by Door B. No pencil sharpener is available. Other items may be available by asking Mr. Eason. Students
should not touch anything on the teacher's desk or open the drawers on the teacher's desks or open the drawers on
any file cabinet.
If I need to see Mr. E for assistance or use one of the
computers, when can I do that outside of class time?
Students may come for assistance
or to use a computer before school, during any lunch, and after school. You should have a hall pass in your student agenda
that will allow you to come to my room at 8:00 or during any lunch. I am generally available beginning at 8:00 (although occasionally
I don't arrive until 8:15). I am available during all lunches (except for the occasional meeting or lunch duty). On Mondays
and Tuesdays, I am available after school until 4:30, although I may occasionally leave at 3:45 if no students are here. Thursdays
and Fridays I am available after school by appointment.
Why are there video/web cameras mounted in the room, and why are they recording?
The cameras are always on, but are not always recording (maybe someday). Selected classes are recorded and the video is reviewed
by Mr. Eason in an effort to improve his teaching. Sometimes other teachers, administrators, or evaluators may review the
video in order to provide feedback to Mr. Eason. All videos will be used in accordance with approved BCSD guidelines and requirements.
The cameras also are used when students from other schools are enrolled in Mr. Eason's classes and when parents wish to
observe a class via Mr. Eason's virtual classroom.
